What began primarily as a gathering centered around Texas authors has continued to grow into something much broader—a celebration of Texas authors, artists, musicians, filmmakers, readers, and creative professionals.
The Lone Star Festival is not simply another vendor event. Its purpose is to build connections: between creators and audiences, between established professionals and emerging talent, and among the many creative communities that exist throughout Texas.
At its heart, LSF is about Texas creativity meeting Texas audiences.
How the Festival Has Grown
During its early years, the Lone Star Festival established itself as a place where authors could meet readers, sell and sign books, give readings, and connect with other members of the Texas literary community.
But the vision was always larger than books alone.
As the festival developed, artists and musicians became increasingly important parts of the experience. The goal evolved from creating an author event into creating a gathering where different forms of Texas creativity could exist side by side.
In 2024, the third annual Lone Star Festival was held in Seguin, bringing together authors, artists, musicians, and the public in a community-wide celebration of Texas talent.
The festival continued growing in 2025, moving to Austin and expanding the concept even further. Books remained an important foundation, but music, art, film, education, networking, and ambitious special events became part of the larger vision.
That evolution continues today.
